Distance MBA Program
Our daily lives are becoming more and more complex. Time for studying an MBA program is limited or, at worst, unavailable. While top business schools expect their students to have completed at least four years of work experience before being enrolled into the MBA program, the conflicts between family, career and personal life do not support a return to full time pursuit of an MBA program.
So what’s next? Higher learning institutions have realized that in this era of lifelong learning and continuous professional development, it is prudent that they increase the flexibility of the learning process by creating options such as the distance MBA program which runs for between two to three years and is highly favorable for the young professionals who wish to advance their professional development but feel too pressed to enroll in a full time course.
Distance MBA programs have become popular partly due to the desire to have high quality internationally recognized qualifications from top business schools, and partly due to the increase in the number of learning and communication strategies such as tutorial chat rooms, streaming video lectures, teleconferencing, televised lectures and other varying forms of learning assessment.
Many of these internationally recognized business schools have succeeded in adapting existing MBA programs such that if not all, then part of the course is successfully delivered at the students’ place of work or residence. What is even more laudable is that these schools employ a range of teaching and assessment strategies that ensure that irrespective of the geographical location or the remoteness of the place of residence or work, the academic and learning experience remains unaffected.
In cases where the location or the remoteness of the students location possess the ability to influence the learning experience, the schools organize regional teaching centers where critical aspects of the MBA program like seminars of crucial lectures are delivered physically to the learners who may be advised to travel to the venue so as not to miss on key fundamentals of the coursework. When seeking out a distance learning MBA program, take into account that not all distance learning MBAs has received accreditation. Many schools are out there to make a quick buck out of your ignorance so take care and be informed.
